What Co-ops can teach us about community

On Monday, 1/22/07, Co-op board member and volunteer Denise VanDeCruze talked on the radio about the Co-op on the Richard Brown Show on WCOM Carrboro, 103.5 FM - *What co-ops can teach us about community*. If you missed it, you can listen to it online here: "http://www.richardbrownshow.com/show84.mp3":www.richardbrownshow.com/show84.mp3.

Richard talked with Denise about her experience with the Food Co-op in Durham, North Carolina. The main theme was that "the Food Co-op is not your normal big box grocery store in that the decisions and actions are based on what is best for the co-op community, not a desire for profit. Learning about these differences may enlighten our understanding of how we interact with our food and our community."
