This is the ad-hoc committee born at the 2006 Membership Meeting of the Durham Food Co-op dedicated to trying to figure out how we got where we are, if and how we can turn things around, and what our options are if it seems we can't.
In other words, I foresee the main tasks as being:
To examine and assess the current financial structure of the co-op and recent financial history to determine the feasibility of a financial overhaul and the necessary areas of focus.
To carefully construct, based on these findings, a model under which our co-op could prosper.
To research different options for gracefully bowing out of our current business, from radically changing our business plan (such as it is) to filing for bankruptcy.
Our findings will be presented at a membership meeting June 4th.
Any member is welcome to join - the more the better! - but we especially need folks versed in finance, real estate, law, and business.
We have been charged with creating a new staffing schedule. We need members' input!
Hard work, but we're gonna to get things movin' in the right direction. We need you!
Hear how the new staff schedule is going - plus reviewing job descriptions, a mechanism for performance review, and revising staff benefits!
All right guys! We want everyone's input. Get yr butts down here.
No agenda yet, but I'm sure it will be a doozy.
Hosted on Brightleaf Square, Peabody Place, and surrounding areas in Durham, NC Check http://www.tasteofdurham.org/festival/essentials.html for directions.
