Please join us *Monday, December 4 at 7 p.m.* for the premiere of five short documentaries that celebrate and explore the *Burch Avenue neighborhood and West Chapel Hill Street*.
Using interviews, sounds, and moving and still images, these projects document neighborhood narratives collected by Duke and UNC students enrolled in the *Portraits of Southwest Central Durham Neighborhoods* class at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.

Traction's annual holiday-ish party and fundraiser is co-sponsored this year by *The Independent* ... and features:
Fun craft sale on Sunday, December 10, at the Edison Johnson Rec Center on Murray Avenue. That's just down the street from the Museum of Life and Science. The hours are 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., and there will be light refreshments served.
The crafters at the show will mainly come from the "Durham Craft Market":http://www.durhamcraftmarket.com, but there will also be a number of guest artists on hand, so it should really be an interesting show. There will be pottery, woodwork, jewelry, dolls, purses, candles, stained glass, and lots more.
