The Durham Food Co-op is currently accepting applications for a *part-time general store clerk*. You must have experience serving the public, ability to lift at least 50lbs, and the ability to handle multiple demands. A desire to learn about organic and natural foods is a must. This position includes, but is not limited to, running a cash register, keeping displays, shelves, fresh produce displays, coolers and freezers fully stocked, assisting in unloading delivery trucks, supervising and training volunteer member-owners, providing prompt, friendly customer service, answering customer questions both face-to-face and on the phone, and staying up-to-date with Co-op events and policies in order to accurately inform our members. Qualifying applicants must have strong customer service skills, experience in running a cash register, the ability to follow directions, multi-task, and maintain consistent regular attendance. Our customer service team members are the first and last people our member-owners and customers see, so a clean appearance and a friendly smile is a must!
